Pádraig Jack O Flaithearta was born into a musical family on the Aran Islands. The son of singer Barry Ronan and nephew of poet Mary O’Malley, he is proud to be writing music in English and in Irish on guitar and piano.His album received a lot of praise from Hot Press, Rock’n’Reel magazine and The Alternate Root and was nominated as album of the week on RTE Radio 1 when it came out. His song ‘Making Sand’ was nominated for the Song of Year at the RTE Folk Awards in 2022.
Pádraig is currently recording his second album with producer John Reynolds (Sinead O’Connor, Damien Dempsey) with the first single (It Could be Home) coming out in April. Pádraig usually tours in Ireland and England, he is currently on tour with Miles Hunt of The Wonder Stuff and started the year with a couple of trips to Wales and to the Basque Country.
