Cúirt Cheoil na mBan 2025

Cúirt Cheoil na mBan – A traditional Irish music festival celebrating women and non-binary singers, dancers and musicians for the community of Inis Oírr.

10th, 11th & 12th October 2025

What began as a one-off event for Culture Night in 2022, Cúirt Cheoil na mBan has now grown into a 3-day festival that happens at the end of the tourist season on Inis Oírr, the smallest of the Aran Islands. In 2023 and 2024 we included Inis Meáin and hope to return there next year. This Irish language festival puts a focus on women and non-binary Traditional Irish musicians and aims to revive the traditional social nights that people would have hosted in their homes long ago.

People open their homes to host sessions throughout the weekend. There will be opportunities to meet other musicians with similar experiences to you in a supportive environment, organise casual sessions, go for walks and swims and there will also be room for late night sessions open to all genders in the local pubs.

Cúirt Cheoil na mBan is co-produced by Emma O’Grady and Áras Éanna, with support from an Pleanáil Teanga Inis Oírr

Cúirt Cheoil na mBan is an Apartheid-Free Festival, meaning we observe the cultural boycott of Israel and adhere to the principles of the BDS movement. Coca Cola products in particular will not be allowed in our event spaces.
