Galway Cartoon Festival

This is our fifth year welcoming the Galway Cartoon Festival. Although the festival is spread out over Galway city, each year we host the exhibition ‘Tarraing é i nGaeilge’, a fantastic array of all styles of cartoons as Gaeilge. Many National and International cartoonists visit Inis Oírr and mingle in the shops and pubs encouraging people to draw and even doing caricatures for the public for free.
As part of Áras Éanna’s partnership with the Galway Cartoon Festival we welcome a cartoonist to spend 4 weeks on an artist residency. Joey Mason from Los Angeles was the Artist in Residence this year.
