Pádraig Jack – Friday 12 July, Inis Meáin

Friday July 12 @ 8:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Pádraig Jack O Flaithearta was born into a musical family on the Aran Islands. The son of singer Barry Ronan and nephew of poet Mary O’Malley, he is proud to be writing music in English and in Irish on guitar and piano.

His album received a lot of praise from Hot Press, Rock’n’Reel magazine and The Alternate Root and was nominated as album of the week on RTE Radio 1 when it came out.  His song ‘Making Sand’ was nominated for the Song of Year at the RTE Folk Awards in 2022.

Pádraig’s musical journey extends beyond the studio. He tours regularly in Ireland and the UK, and he’s currently on a perpetual tour in the UK with Miles Hunt of The Wonder Stuff. Last year, he opened for Damien Dempsey in Vicar St and performed to a crowd of 4,000 in the Iveagh Gardens. In 2023, he toured Wales, the Basque country, and played shows all around Ireland, including at the Doolin Folk Fest and Galway Folk Festival.

Pádraig Jack’s music has been described as having a deeply romantic core, yet he maintains authenticity. His talent shines through, making him one of Ireland’s most exciting artists. As he records his second album, we eagerly await the next chapter in his musical journey1

Pádraig is currently recording his second album with producer John Reynolds with the first single (It Could be Home) coming out in April.
