Liam Ó Maonlaí Áras Éanna

Liam spent the month of November as artist in residence at Áras Éanna last year where he immersed himself in island life, language and culture. Liam, best known as frontman and founder of the Hothouse Flowers, is a rare talent as a singer, multi-instrumentalist, visual artist and a passionate advocate for the Irish language and the culture that surrounds it.

Liam’s career has seen him achieve number one hits in over twenty countries. He has travelled extensively where he has embraced and performed with different cultures and there music including with the Australian aboriginal community and the Tuareg in Mali.

Liams passion for the Irish language and music (especially sean-nós) in his performances are a pleasure to behold.
