Áras Éanna’s summer exhibition celebrates the bodhrán. ‘Craiceann’ the bodhrán summer school celebrated it’s 21st edition this year. Áras Éanna has hosted Craiceann every year and to celebrate it’s 21st birthday they have curated a wonderful diverse exhibition of the humble bodhrán.
Twenty musicians who happen to be extremely talented visual artists received a specially commissioned canvas skinned bodhrán which was made by the very talented Bill Wright. Each artist had the freedom to express themselves by creating an artwork on the canvas. Each bodhrán is handmade using canvas for decoration purposes only and has a diameter of 18”.
All bodhrán’s are for sale via silent auction which is now live and closes on Friday 30th August at 5p.m. Highest bid secures sale.
50% of proceeds from sales will go to the artist and 50% will go towards the establishment of a musical instrument library at Áras Éanna for the benefit of the community.
