Culture Night – Cúirt Cheoil na mBan

Culture Night promises to be a treat on the smallest of the Aran Islands. A night of traditional Irish music on Inis Oírr with more than 10 women ceoltóirí travelling from house to house, dancing at ‘The Leic’ and ending with a free concert at Áras Éanna.
Reviving the social nights of music, song and dance traditionally hosted in island households long ago, the audience will be welcomed into family kitchens in four of the island’s villages for a celebration of women in music. Featuring musicians and singers from Inis Oírr along with musicians who are regular visitors to the island including Aimee Farrell Courtney (bódhrán), Aisling Parslow (fiddle), Bríd Treasa Ní Ghaoithín (presenter & singer), Brona Graham (banjo), Bríd Ní Chualáin (low whistle), Ceara Conway (singer), Isobel Donnery (bodhrán), Leona McKenna (whistle), Róisín Ní Dhomhnaill (singer and whistle), Úna Ní Fhlannagáin (harp) and more to be announced.
5-7pm … House sessions (exact times and locations to be announced)
7.30pm … Dancing at ‘The Leic’ (weather permitting)
9pm … Free concert at Áras Éanna
