A night of beautiful music, with a fusion of influences from all across the globe, is in store at Áras Éanna on Saturday, September 24, when Connemara native Ceara Conway brings a full live band to our theatre.
Immersed in the ‘sean nós’ tradition, Ceara shows a wonderful respect for tradition while also incorporating Portuguese, Arabic and African song and Georgian Chant in her stunning performances.
Known for her unique use of traditional song and lament in contemporary art, vocalist/artist Ceara will be joined by musicians Kevin Murphy (Cello) and Ultan O’Brien (Viola, Fiddle) of Slow Moving Clouds, and Anna Mullarkey (piano, electronics) for a delightful collection of sean nós and world music songs that explore the beautiful sounds and sentiments of love, loss and longing.
Her set will feature the traditional Irish ‘caoineadh’ or lament, in a concert which will merge Ceara’s love and respect for tradition with her interest in new styles, genres, and contemporary music.
